Koohrang spring

Koohrang Spring, which is the source of two rivers of Karun and Zayandehrud, is located in Koohrang city.

This spring, which originates from the foothills of Zardkooh Mountain Range, provides high amount of water annually; Zardkooh Mountain is one of the Central Zagros Mountains in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province and one of the richest natural water resources in Iran. Following winding routes, Koohrang Spring flows into Koohrang dam lake and enters Zayandeh River from the first Koohrang tunnel. Currently, the drinking water people living in Shahrekord and Farsan counties consume is supplied by Koohrang spring.

Since the access route to this spring is not paved very much, it has attracted off-roads tourists. Around this spring, the beautiful landscape of black tents belonging to Bakhtiari nomads, who have chosen the area around this lake as an ideal place to live and spend time, can be seen. The black tents, the pristine and eye-catching nature of the region, the pleasant view and sound of flowing water have made Koohrang Spring one of the most important and beautiful tourist attractions of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province. The source of Koohrang is sometimes confused with Dimeh Spring, which is another attraction of Koohrang about thirty kilometers away from.
