Estil Lagoon

Estil international protected Lagoon, located on the border between Talash-Astara road, is one of those tourism destinations that, in addition to its recreational importance, is considered as one of the most important factors in maintaining the balance of the region's ecosystem.

In the following, while introducing its outstanding nature-tourism features, we will discuss the impact of the lagoon on the life of more than 80 rare bird species and 250 species of special plants.

Why should we visit Estil Lagoon?

It is hard to find a place like Estil Lagoon. Imagine a lagoon in your mind, one side of which is the city, the other side is the green mountain, the third side is the forest, and the last side overlooks the fertile rice fields of Talesh..

In addition, inside the lagoon, you will see a floating forest of alder trees that change their location at any time. For this reason, some people call it a “The Moving Lagoon”. Many fish live in the water and this abundance of fish causes the migration of some very rare birds to the lagoon.

What effect does Estil Lagoon have on the region's ecosystem?

As mentioned, the lagoon hosts various rare animal and plant species. For this reason, the Department of Environment of Gilan declared hunting prohibited in this area in order to preserve this valuable ecosystem. Some species of migratory birds come from Russia, arctic regions and central Europe to lay eggs and breed in Estil Lagoon. So, the existence of the lagoon is very important for the survival of wildlife.

Give your eyes the pleasure of seeing Estil Lagoon !!!
