Ganjname complex
Hamedan Ganjnameh Cultural and Sports Village is located five kilometers far from Hamedan city, in Ganjnameh Square and next to the ancient inscriptions and Ganjnameh waterfall.
The inscriptions of Ganjnameh have been established here by the order of Darius the Great, the Achaemenid emperor, after the order to erect the inscription of Biston. There is also a stone inscription from the emperor Xerxes on the right side of the inscription of Darius. Each of these two is carved in three columns and in three cuneiform lines of Elamite, Akkadian and ancient Persian. Ganjnameh waterfall is 12 meters high. At the bottom of the waterfall, pits have formed over time and water pressure. The water of the waterfall then forms the Ganjnameh River, which goes up to 6 km and irrigates a plain and reaches the surrounding gardens. Ganjnameh waterfall is also very spectacular in winter. The name of this waterfall is in the list of natural monuments of Iran. Behind the waterfall, there is a beautiful and flowery plain on the slopes of Alvand Mountain, which is known as Mishan Square.
