Decanius ancient city

Decanius ancient city is considered by scholars and archaeologists to be one of the earliest human civilizations. The ancient city of Decanius is located 30 km from Jiroft city and Kenar Sandal village, in Kerman province. This city, which is also called the land of Decanius, is 7,000 years old and has an area of 12 hectares.

This ancient site accommodates many tourists in winter and summer. Due to the hot and dry climate of Jiroft, it is better to visit this ancient site in the cold seasons. We say, what we call today the city of Decanius. Kenar Sandal village, which is located about 5 km west of Anbar Abad and 30 km south of Jiroft, tells us about a thousand-year-old civilization, where today we refer to it as the city of Decanius. Iranian historians and archaeologists, with extensive excavations in the Halilrud Basin and Kenar Sandal village, have hypothesized that Middle Eastern Mesopotamian was not the beginning of civilization but it was Jiroft. This issue has been significantly mentioned by Dr. Majidzadeh, an archaeologist in this area. Archaeological research shows that there was a city along Halilrud with an area of 400 square kilometres, which is even older than the Babylonian and Mesopotamian civilizations. This project has not been significantly proved, but the Middle East is considered as one of the firs civilizations and it is nationally registered. The items obtained from this ancient hill are mostly pottery and stone utensils, pieces of soapstone and sometimes utensils. The most important industry of the people of this civilization is carving on soapstone, which has a special delicacy. There are images of humans, goats and sheep, palms, snakes and scorpions on these pieces, but snakes and scorpions are more common.
