When and how was the tomb of Attar built?
Although the Mongol invasion was very bloody and destructive, the Mongol governments after them who came to power in Iran, made a lot of efforts for the prosperity and growth of Iranian culture and civilization, which was made possible by the help of their Iranian ministers. Alisher Navoi, the wise minister and writer of Timurid dynasty, built a structure on the grave of Attar (6 centuries ago). This building gradually fell into wear and tear until during the Pahlavi period, extensive reconstruction was done on it and in 1976 it was registered in Iran National Heritage List. Today, this building is considered one of the important tourist destinations of Neyshabur.

Attar's Mausoleum is located in the middle of a very large and beautiful garden with colorful trees and flowers. This is an octagonal structure that has a dome on it in the style of Iranian-Islamic architecture, and Attar's grave can be seen in the center of this octagon. But the most attractive part of Attar Mausoleum is its eye-catching and infinitely artistic decorations.Turquoise blue tiling with Kufic script on it, the use of Islamic and geometric motifs,4 entrances on each4 sides according to the style of the Islamic middle ages, and etc, are only part of this charm. In addition, you can see the tombs of a number of other Iranian artists and scientists, such as Kamal-ol-molk (the best painter of the Qajar period), next to the Attar's one.
