Forg Wooden Mosque

Forg Wooden Mosque or Balal Habashi Mosque is located in Darmian city in South Khorasan province. This beautiful interesting mosque is located at the bottom of Forg Castle in the rural context of Forg.

The materials used in the construction of Forg Wooden Mosque are wood and adobe, and perhaps that is why it is considered one of the special mosques in Iran. The renovation and revitalization of this mosque in the form of village houses was carried out in the development planning of Forg village by a person named Dr. Akrami, a consultant at the Housing Foundation of the Islamic Revolution.

After entering the main door of the mosque, we first reach an adobe dome with small porches. As it is known, these porches are used as waiting space. Passing through a small corridor, we encounter the main courtyard of the mosque with wooden roof and columns that induce a special spiritual feeling to the visitor. In the middle of the courtyard, a dome with wooden poles has been created. In front of the altar, there is a wooden porch with wooden poles. When you are in this porch, you can easily look at the beautiful barberry fields of Forg village, sit and watch them. In addition, the domes and its minarets on the roof of the mosque, which are made entirely of adobe, have a spectacular view and gives tourists an indescribable peace. Currently, visiting this mosque is free.
