The bazaar, which is considered one of the main pillars of Islamic cities, was built from the first decades of Islamic history. Of course, during the time of powerful and rich dynasties, the construction of bazaars accelerated or the old bazaars were repaired. One of the most important periods of Bazaar construction and restoration in Iran is related to the Safavid and Qajar governments. Zanjan bazaar was built during the Safavid period and its restoration was started by Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar and finished during the period of his successor (Fath-Ali Shah). From that time until today, the market has maintained its dynamic activity and is considered the main economic and financial center of Zanjan.
