Mosaddeq House

Alborz is the smallest province of Iran, but its tourist destinations are very special, different and unique. One of them is Dr. Mosaddegh's House ( Prime Minister of Iran in the 50s ) or Ahmad Abad Castle, located in Ahmad Abad village ( near Nazarabad city ), which displays a link of history, politics and architecture before your eyes.

Who is Dr. Muhammad Mosaddegh?

The best sentence that introduces him is: ( The one who forever destroyed the awe and fear of England in Iran). He nationalized Iran's oil industry and fiercely defended Iran against England's complaint at International Court of Justice. After the 1953 Iranian coup d'état by US and UK, the Shah of Iran imprisoned him forever in Ahmad Abad Castle in a mock trial. Finally, Dr. Mosaddegh died in this house

History of the this House:

The construction of this house dates back to the Qajar period and is 160  years old. We should know that Dr. Mosaddegh and his family are among the princes of the late Qajar period. This house was owned by her sister's husband and then Mosaddegh bought the house from him. After Mosaddegh's death, no one was allowed to visit his house until the fall of the Pahlavi dynasty. Until after the victory of Iran Islamic Revolution in 1979, one million people came to Mossadegh's tomb to honor the memory of this great man.

What things will we see in Mosaddegh's house?

The architecture of the house is very simple (made of simple bricks) and the interior decorations are also non-luxurious. Mosaddegh's personal car, his library, government documents during his prime ministership and Personal belongings are among the things you will see in this house.

Although Mosaddegh's house is simple, the tomb of one of the greatest men of Iran is located in it.
