Bushehr Saadat School

Today, this ancient and famous school has become a historical and cultural center and a tourist attraction in Bushehr, which is visited by many people every year. March 7, the anniversary of the founding of Saadat School, has been named Bushehr National Day. Bushehr Saadat School was established in 1899 in Bushehr province, Imam Street, in front of Moallem Square in Kooti neighborhood, in a new educational style. This school is historically the mother of schools in the south of Iran, whose texture and structure, like the central texture of Bushehr, has a dazzling and extraordinary beauty. The operation of this school was such that the flood of science and knowledge enthusiasts in the two years of the establishment of this school increased the number of students from seventy to four hundred and fifty. It is interesting to know that this school has also received students from the cities of Najaf, Karbala, Samarra and Kazemin and the lands of the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Zanzibar, Central Asia and India.

At Saadat School in Bushehr, which was the equivalent of the Tehran Darol funun, an attempt was made to upgrade it to a specialized college. It is a valuable document in the archive of Saadat School documents series, which shows that an effort has been made for medical education in Saadat School. As in Darol Funun, medicine was taught clinically in the hospital after one year of theoretical training. There are now 36 volumes of medical books in the field of internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, ophthalmology, anatomy, physiology, pathology and clinical biochemistry in the historical archive of Saadat School Library, 31 of which are in French Published in Paris from 1823 to 1875. "Therefore, the city of Bushehr has also been a pioneer in establishing modern medical education institutions."
