Naderi Mil
Kerman Naderi Mil is one of the furthest minarets in Iran, which is located in a desert and very dry area in the middle of the road from Bam to Zahedan and in an area called Narmashir near Fahraj.
The minaret or guide Mil was built for the comfort of travelers. These structures were generally built along roads and paths, and a fire was lit in their top so that travelers could see the light on dark nights or foggy days, so they can distinguish the main road. The mils have been an independent structure from the very beginning of their construction and have nothing to do with any other structure. From ancient times, Mils have been used as a messenger, post, and guide; though the great decoration of some of them, makes people doubt about their real use, sometimes the prize opens up the debate over their use. Around Naderi Mil in Kerman there is very dry land without any signs about water and prosperity for kilometers. This mill was built during the Seljuk period, but because it was repaired and rebuilt during the reign of Nader Shah, it is known as Naderi Mil. Naderi Mil of Kerman is the only ancient monument of this city and was built to guide the caravans of Bam and Fahraj on the Zahedan-Kerman road. This mill is about 40 meters high and is made of brick and has interesting brickwork decorations. The upper part of the Mil has very beautiful brick decorations. Kerman's Naderi Mil has more than 45 steps. Flooding in 2010 in Fahraj region caused irreparable damage to this historical monument, so that this unique monument was exposed to destruction. Naderi Mil of Kerman has been registered in the list of national monuments of Iran on January 6, 1961 with the number 143.
