Nader Shah Afshar's tomb
The tomb of Nader Shah Afshar is one of the most important historical and touristic places in Mashhad, which was reopened in 1963 in Naderi Garden of Mashhad by the efforts of the National Monuments Association of Iran and the order of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
The architecture of Nader Shah's tomb:
This tomb was built in a garden with a total area of 14,400 square meters. The main area of Nader Shah Afshar's tomb is 12,000 square meters and consists of different parts such as three west, east and south porches that are connected to each other and have three corridors and three stairs. The main building of Naderi Tomb was designed by Houshang Seyhoun and its tomb was built 2 meters above the ground in the form of a tent and a nomadic tent on a twelve-step platform. A very beautiful statue of Nader Shah Afshar in the garden of Naderi Museum was designed by an Iranian sculptor named Abolhassan Sedighi and its foundation was made by Brutti factory in Italy. Near the tomb tower of Naderi, a cannon can be seen that was looted by the Iranians from the Portuguese during the Afshari period.
There are two halls in the garden of Naderi Museum in Mashhad in the main part of Nader Shah Afshar's tomb. In the first hall of Naderi Museum of Mashhad, a variety of weapons, military clothing and equestrian equipment are displayed. In addition to these paintings and scenes from Nader Shah's wars, some exquisite manuscripts, including the history of Jahangushaye Naderi and two Nader-owned swords gilded on it, are also kept in this section. In the second hall of the museum, there are some pictures and historical information about the life of Nader and Colonel Mohammad Ali Pesyan. In the northern corner of the tomb of Nader Shah Afshar, there is the tomb of Sardar Khorasan Mohammad Taghikhan Pesyan (the first Iranian who successfully complete his piloting course).
