Tabriz Mashrouteh house

Tabriz Mashrouteh(constitutions) houseis one of the most famous historical house of Iran that was built in Qajar architecture style by an architect from Tabriz called Haj Vali.

The house consists of 2 floors and Andaruni (interior) and Biruni (exterior) which are built by materials such as stone, brick, and adobe. Both floors have hall and different rooms. Gholam gardesh, yard, pavilion, hozkhaneh,

Gholam ‌ Gardesh, courtyard, pergola, Howzkhaneh (pool house), skylight, etc. are among the different parts of the architecture of the building. The most interesting and beautiful part of the building is the foyer and the room facing the courtyard on the second floor. In this section, decorations such as doors and windows with colored glass have been used. Other beautiful parts of the building are the wooden ceilings of the side rooms, which have embossed octagonal decorations. Carved doors decorated with Arbesque, plastering, mirrors, sash windows, etc. are other eye-catching decorations of Tabriz Mashrouteh House. This place, which is one of the most beautiful attractions of Tabriz, was registered in the list of national historical monuments of Iran in 1975.

Regarding the geographical location of the Tabriz Mashrouteh House, it should be mentioned that this historical monument is located in Tarbiat Street, on the west side of Tabriz Bazaar Complex, and in front of the Grand Mosque, in an old neighborhood called Rasteh Koocheh. The first owner of this place was a person named Haj Mehdi Koozekanani.After Mohammad Ali Shah bombard the parliament because of his assassination attempt, Haj Mehdi Koozekanani also gave his house to the constitutionalists to support them.Therefore, this house was the gathering place of famous people such as Sattar Khan, Baqer Khan and Siqat al-Islam Tabrizi. Other people, such as Haji Mirza Agha Farshi and Haj Mehdi Koozekanani himself, were also present at these gatherings to consult, decide, print and publish anti-government leaflets. As a result, this house became one of the most active centers for constitutionalists.

After the end of World War II and the occupation of Tabriz by Soviet forces, this place became a gathering place for the leaders of the democratic sect in Azerbaijan. Finally, in 1996, after making changes in the halls and rooms, Mashrouteh House became a museum. This museum contains valuable works and documents from the events of the constitutional era, so that people can become more and better acquainted with the history and culture, architecture and events of that period.Other works of the museum include sculptures of Sattar Khan, Baqer Khan, personal belongings of constitutional leaders, constitutional carpet, Sattar Khan's belt weapon, photographs of Mozaffaruddin Shah, Mohammad Ali Shah and anti-constitutional groups, printing press, etc. The geographical location of the Tabriz Constitutional House, due to its proximity to the Grand Mosque and Tabriz Bazaar, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has attracted a large number of tourists traveling to East Azerbaijan Province.
